BikeLoop generates cycling routes over Alachua County and ranks candidates by bikeability — how much of the ride runs on dedicated cycleways, smooth surfaces, and low-traffic roads, rather than just picking the shortest path.
Loop starts and ends at the same place. A → B routes between two points (optionally through stops). Laps splits one total distance into several loops around a home base, joined near your start.
Click the map, type coordinates, or use Search to find an address or place. Drag the pin on the map to fine-tune it.
Stops force the route through extra points, in order (e.g. a coffee shop midway). Avoid areas keep the route away from a circle or square you place and size — drag the marker, resize with the slider, click the shape icon to toggle circle/square. The Tap a road tool lets you click any drawn route line directly and choose to route through or avoid that road.
Set a target by distance or estimated time (using the avg-speed slider). Pick a riding profile (road bike, gravel, commuter, e-bike, …) to change how routes are scored. Advanced options tune how much weight bike infrastructure, hills, route variety, and backtracking get, plus distance tolerance and start-snapping.
Each card shows distance, estimated time, climb, and a confidence badge for how much of the ride has known surface data, plus a bikeability bar and cycleway / smooth / flow percentages. Click a card to isolate that route on the map.
Reverse flips travel direction and re-scores it (one-way streets and bike lanes can differ by direction). Elev shows an elevation profile. Cues lists turn-by-turn directions. Edit lets you drag points to reshape the route, click the line to add a point, and double-click a point to remove it. The refresh icon regenerates just that route; the bookmark icon saves it for later; GPX downloads it for a bike computer or app.
Copy link puts your current settings in a URL anyone can open. QR shows a scannable code for the same link — handy for pulling up a plan on your phone. Saved routes persist in this browser and can be exported/imported as JSON. Editing or reversing a route carries over too — the link/save replays those changes once you press Generate on the other end.
